Melanopsin is a photopigment which gets activated when blue light is exposed to our eye and sends a signal to our brain that its daylight hence in return our brain stops secreting melatonin which is our sleep hormone responsible for causing sleepiness. We no longer feel asleep and receive an inconvenient sleeping pattern causing tiredness and fatigue.
